Who doesn’t love a good story? The good stories, the ones that are memorable and beg to be retold, are the ones with unexpected twists and turns. God is writing our life story with some noteworthy twists and turns. If you are reading this, know that we’ve prayed for you. Know that we are asking God’s direction for your life and the life of your baby. Isaiah 30:20-21 gives a picture of clear direction. . . of a teacher behind a student showing him the right way to go. We are praying clear direction for you as you make this important decision for you and your baby.
We grew up in rural towns in Georgia and attended the same school. Kindergarten through twelfth grades were all in one school. Although Ben is four years my senior, we still knew of one another since the school was small. Fast forward many years when I was in college, and we had our first date. We were married one year later and that was almost seventeen years ago.
We have two handsome, entertaining, brilliant, and awesome boys. They are 12 and 10 (18 months apart in age). They are the best of friends and the worst of enemies all within a span of about 15 minutes! We constantly share Proverbs 17:17-a friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity. We pray that they are not only good brothers to each other but also lifelong friends. With the birth of our youngest son, we thought our family was complete. . . About 5 years ago, Ben heard a Focus on the Family episode on the radio regarding adoption. He came home saying we should have had more kids. I shot him down. Immediately! Thankfully, God started to change my heart. It took about 3 years for me to come around. God has placed a desire in both of our hearts to adopt and add to our family. We’ve seen our boys with their younger cousins and other little kids. They will make the Best big brothers EVER!
If we aren’t at home or church, we can probably be found on a football field, baseball field, or a gym watching basketball. Our boys are into ball, and we are into being their biggest fans!
Ben’s career has taken us to many states throughout the Southeast-TN, KY, NC, SC, and now back again in NC. Most of our extended family lives in Georgia, so we make it back there for holidays and weekend trips. Our church family has been a source of joy and encouragement in all the different places we’ve lived. Many of these friends have adopted and have given us a window into the beauty of this world.

Will your birth plan and our lives intersect? God knows. He is working out his perfect plan for all of our lives. We are a “waiting” family now. Here’s a beautiful verse that is an encouragement to us and we hope to you too!
Isaiah 30:18(The Message) But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right-everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.
Praying for you,
Ben, Jenn, and boys
