Inquire About This Family

Dear Expecting Parents,

Our names are Josh and Stephanie, and we are so grateful that you are taking the time to learn a little bit about who we are as individuals, and as a couple. Thank you! We are both honored and excited that you are taking this step, and we know that the decision you are making takes incredible strength and courage. We have a great deal of respect and are truly blessed and thankful for you.

Family has always been at the center of our lives, and from the time we became a couple, we knew that we wanted to extend our family to include two or three children. We just didn’t know how long and hard the journey could be. After many rounds of infertility treatments, we realized that a child would not come into our lives the conventional way. However, we know that God has a plan for all of us, and while we do not know what that plan is until it unfolds before us, we do know that having the opportunity to adopt a child will allow our dream to be fulfilled, and the future we envision to be complete.

Josh was born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan and he is the oldest of three kids. Stephanie was born in Houston, Texas and has a brother that is five years younger than her.  We were married in June 2010, and have lived in our neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac since then. It's a friendly neighborhood with lots of children that frequently play outside. We feel a great sense of accomplishment in the home we have created together, and look forward to enhancing our home with the love of children and family. We have a dog named Maya, she is a Golden Retriever Poodle mix, who loves being around people and other dogs. We raised Maya from the time she was a puppy, and consider her our four legged child.

In our spare time we love being with family, traveling, boating, fishing, downhill skiing, golfing, working in our yard, watching movies, and riding our bikes. In addition, we love to spend time at Stephanie's dad's house on Crystal Lake, and Josh's grandparent’s house on the bayou in Grand Haven.

We enjoy traveling together, and with family. We have been to places such as Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya, Punta Cana, The Bahamas, Saint Marteen, and we recently took a cruise to Alaska. Additionally, we dream of one day traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and Australia. We look forward to taking our children to Disney World, Myrtle Beach, Washington DC, and Chicago, among other places, to build family memories.

Stephanie graduated from college with her bachelor's degree in English, and a minor in elementary education. After graduating, Stephanie worked in the schools as a reading teacher for five years, while at the same time working for a restaurant at night. With the recent budget cuts in schools, it made it very difficult to obtain an elementary classroom teaching position, as she desired. After five years of looking for a classroom teaching position, she decided it was time to obtain one full time job. At that time, a general manager position opened up at the restaurant she had worked at for years. She accepted that position, and has been very happy taking on that role. She has been a manager for 13 years total, a general manager for 4 years, and has worked for that same company for 16 years.

Josh also attended the same college as Stephanie, where they first met, obtaining his business degree in marketing and human resources, with an emphasis in logistics. He works for a local office furniture company, where he orders parts that are needed to make the product his company sells. Josh continued his education, completing his Master of Business Administration degree. He graduated with his master's degree in December 2014.

We attend church where the Sunday school is divided up by grade level, so the lessons are age appropriate and understandable for the children. There are several community outreach programs that we look forward to contributing to as a family. The church has an adoption support group for those in the process of adopting, or for those who have already adopted, which we have been attending. We also plan to attend the gracious parenting classes that are offered at their church as they raise their family.

We would like to thank you again for taking the time to begin to understand who are we, and for the opportunity to start the family we have always dreamed of. We hope that we are the parents that you are dreaming of for your baby, and would like you to know that we are prepared to give all of our love to ensure the best life possible for your child. We can imagine that this is a very difficult time for you, and wish you only strength and wisdom. We hope that your decision brings you comfort, and peace of heart and mind. We welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you might have about our family, and to talk more about your baby's future. We wish you the very best, and hope to hear from you!

With Love, Peace, and Gratitude,
Josh and Stephanie
