Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. Moreover, thank-you for your courage in carefully considering what is best for you and your baby.

May we take some of your time to tell a little of our story?

We have been married 14 years and have always considered adoption as a means to grow our family.  However, most of that time has been spent in travel, college, and military service so our lifestyle was never stable enough to pursue it.  We’ve had quite an adventure!  Along the way we made three energetic, beautiful daughters.  It is hard to describe how much we love them, and how excited we are to watch them grow and mature.  Along the way we also made one beautiful son, who was stillborn.  It is impossible to describe how much we miss him.  But we are convinced of God's sovereignty and we hold onto the hope that we will one day meet our son in a time and place where there will be no more pain or death.

We have lived in the Pacific Northwest for about three years – a new engineering job with a local aerospace company brought us here after Matthew completed a second degree in 2015.  Ruth is a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling the girls.  They love to learn and their curiosity seems to know no bounds.  Robotics classes, Tae Kwon Do, and church-related programs also make up some of our weekly rhythm.  Our church is small and very personal, just like the community we live in.  Both of us grew up in very rural settings and are raising our children in a similar environment.  Our current adventure is a hobby farm, complete with chickens and pigs, along with our 3 cats and dog.  Our home is full of love, laughter, music, and good smells from the kitchen – all of us love to cook!

In the fall of last year we finally felt able to pursue adoption.   We will have no more biological children, yet our hearts are still open to another little one in our family, to love and cherish.  The three girls (now age 9, 7, and 4) are extremely excited about another sibling.  While they each grieve the loss of their brother differently, we all know that this new little one will in no way replace him but rather be a new blessing in and of him/herself.

We are not perfect parents but we are a loving family, committed to God, to each other, and to those we hold dear in our lives.  There is room in our home and hearts for another child and we would be honored to have you consider placing your baby with us.

We hope and pray that you are surrounded by supportive and wise people as you work through what is best for you and your baby.  Know that God provides grace and mercy, and His timing is perfect.

Prayerfully yours,

Matthew and Ruth
