Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are honored that you would consider us as you search for an adoptive family for your baby. The amount of respect we have for someone who would make such a selfless decision is impossible to put into words. You are your baby's hero. You are our hero.
We’ve been married for five years in May 2014, and we honestly can’t imagine doing this life adventure with anyone else. We challenge each other every day to be the best we can be, and we do our best to extend grace in our not-so-awesome moments. We value faith, family, friends, quality time, honesty, loyalty, integrity, honor, fun, and caring for others, to name a few.
You might wonder what has brought us to this place of pursuing adoption. To be honest, it has been our desire for a long time to be a mommy and daddy. While we have been unable to get pregnant, it has actually never mattered to us how we become parents. We want you to know that adoption is not a fall-back or plan b for us; rather we see it as an important part of God’s plan for our lives. We could not be more excited to become a family through adoption!!
I’m athletic and love any and all sports, but my heart belongs to: basketball (Go Bulls!), baseball (Go White Sox!), and a little football (Go Bears!). I work in management/sales for a prominent paint company in the Denver metro area. I hold a degree in Bible and Theology from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon, and hope to one day pursue my passion for working with churches. Briana says one of the things she loves about me is that I'm just a big kid myself! In a room full of adults, I am always the one adult that the kids are climbing all over like a jungle gym. I can't wait to do dad things with my kids like play catch with my boys, and take my daughters to the Father-daughter dance.
I was born to be a mother. There is not a single thing I have wanted to be more than that in my whole life. It was my love for mommies and babies that ultimately led me to a career in helping women have their babies at home. I have absolutely loved being a midwife, and consider it such a privilege and honor to help families through such an important time in their lives. Being a midwife offers flexibility so I can stay home for as long as I want, to focus on our family. I love football (Go Broncos!), reading, learning how to garden, and spending time with my loved ones.
We live in a lovely old neighborhood on the outskirts of Denver. Ours is the kind of neighborhood where kids play outside until the sun goes down. A big, beautiful park is just a short walk from home! Our park features great big grassy spaces and a fun playground to play on. We have a huge backyard, perfect for building a snowman or just running around to burn off a little energy!
We love hiking, going to the zoo, miniature golf, frisbee golf at Briana's grandparents’ house, playing card and board games, movies, BBQ's, etc. We have fun family traditions, and can't wait to make new traditions as our family grows.
We LOVE our church! When we walk through the doors, we truly feel at home. When it comes to our friendships, we value quality over quantity. Our friends are family to us, and their love and support through our adoption process has been invaluable! Some of our friends are also growing their families through adoption, and it has been so awesome to walk this path together. We love to hang out, play games, watch the Broncos, and hike whenever we get the chance.
Our families are so excited about and supportive of our dream to adopt. Ryan’s family (parents Jeff and Sue; oldest brother Jeremy [wife Jackie, Gaby and Frankie]; and middle brother Eric and his girlfriend Becky) live in the Chicago area, as does most of his extended family. Briana’s family (parents Randy and Debbie; and her brother's family [wife Vanessa, Lincoln and Lila]) still live in Washington State. We are so blessed to have Briana’s sister Bethany living with us in Colorado. She can't wait to have a new little niece or nephew to snuggle and spoil. Our extended families are so big that you can be sure there will be no shortage of grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins!
Our Promise to You
We want you to know that if you choose us, we promise to love your child with everything that is in us. We guarantee we won't be perfect parents, but you can be sure we will do our best to raise your child to the best of our abilities, with God's help and the love and support of our family and friends. We commit to you that your baby will be raised knowing who you are, and they will always know how much you love them. Our desire is to have an open adoption, and we promise to honor the level of openness that you are comfortable with. We promise to provide all the love, fun, security, and opportunity in life that your child could ever want. Finally, we want you to know that you will always be part of our family. You're entrusting a piece of your heart to us; how could you not be family to us? Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!! You and your baby remain in our hearts and prayers as you move forward with your decision.
