The best gift that anyone can be given is the gift of life. We cannot know the magnitude of the decision you are making but we are praying for you.

Our Journey to Adoption
When we married over 13 years ago, we believed like many other couples that our next step would be to become parents. The step seemed so smooth and easy to take; however, that ended up being far from reality. After about 3 years of no pregnancies, we sought medical help. For 4 more years, we went through procedures to increase our chances, but none of them did the trick. Due to medical issues with us both, we are unable to have children naturally. God has been our strength and has given us the desire to become parents through the gift of adoption.

A Little about Aaron (by Richelle)
Aaron is a wonderful man of God. When I met him, it was clear that he loves the Lord and lives his life for Him. Aaron is very caring, generous and loving. He is always working hard to meet others' needs and putting others ahead of himself. Aaron is a great listener when it comes to just needing to talk or wanting advice. I have seen him many times with our god-children sitting on his lap sharing their lives with him. I also find him reading a book or playing a game with not only our god-children but any of the kids that are in our lives.

Aaron is supportive of not only me but of family and friends too. He’s always encouraging and helping others to do their best and succeed. Aaron graduated with honors from college later in life than most with a degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. This was a complete career change and he made it with ease and confidence. Plus, he supported my decision to return to college (all 4 times!).

The qualities Aaron brings to our marriage and family give me no doubt our children will always know they are loved (not only by Daddy but by God too!).

A Little about Richelle (by Aaron)
There are many, many reasons that I believe Shelly will be a wonderful mother. I would love to share just a few of those that I appreciate the most. First and foremost is her passion for children. We have 3 God-children, 2 children we sponsor through Compassion International and many other children in our lives. Hardly a day goes by that one of them isn't thought about by her, and she is planning what to do with them at our next visit. From very early on in our relationship she expressed a deep desire to be a parent.

She is very patient. I have seen her numerous times with one of the kids on her lap tirelessly showing them how to tie a shoe, read a book or color a picture. She's even patient with me most of the time!!! :) Shelly is also very motivated to better herself. She recently earned a degree as a Medical Assistant. This was very difficult as she was still working full-time during the schooling. There is no doubt in my mind that this same motivation will go into her becoming the absolute best mother she can be.

Our Home
Our home is situated on a nice sized lot in a very quiet neighborhood. The home is 1.5 stories with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The neighborhood we live in has numerous families with children of all ages. The elementary, middle and high school are all within about 1 mile of our home.

A portion of our backyard is fenced in while the rest of the lot is wide open and allows for openness to kids in the area. We see the kids playing football, baseball and numerous other games while running through the open yards. The lot also borders a Lutheran school and its' playground, which any kids that come to our house LOVE to utilize!

Our home is also occupied by some of God’s creatures; our pets. We have two dogs; Midnight and Eli, two cats; Smokey and Ember and two birds; Coco and Peanut. Our pets make us laugh and definitely keep us very busy and on our toes! :o)

Our Families
God has truly blessed us with very loving, supportive and Christian families. Aaron is the older of two children and Richelle is the youngest of two. We each have a sister with whom we have a great relationship and enjoy sharing special time. Our parents have been married for 48 and 38 years respectively, which we admire and respect.

As children, we both were raised knowing Jesus’ love, to have respect for others, to be open and communicate and to be true to yourself. Our families also attended church on a regular basis and we were involved with the church youth groups.

We want to share with our child all of the values and love that we each grew up having. Our family can’t wait to open its’ arms to adoption once again and grow their love more as our god-daughters are both adopted.
