Dear Expectant Parent,

Thank you for taking the time to look over our story. We are excited to meet you and thank you in person for considering us. Our names are Adam and Lani and this is our story so far.

We have been married for 3 years. We met when we were in college through mutual friends. We were both very blessed to find jobs right out of college and in the same area. We both moved to the West Michigan area in 2006. We continued to date and fall more in love. In 2007 Adam proposed under the full moon on the beach in Florida. After the proposal we started planning our wedding and we decided to build a house during this time as well. It was a busy but wonderful year of planning to start our life together.

Currently we have not been able to conceive children but have been called to expand our family. With your unselfish choice to provide this amazing blessing for others, we are excited to welcome our first child into our loving home through adoption. We tried to start our family for around two years and found out after many procedures that Lani is unable to conceive children. Lani had cancer as a child, and because of the chemotherapy that she endured during her fight, she is not able to become pregnant. Thank you for helping to make this dream of having a family come true for us.

Let me, Lani, tell you a little about Adam.  Adam is an amazing man who I could not love more. He is compassionate and loves to be around family. His parents have been married for 33 years. He has an older brother and a younger sister. His brother is married and they have two little girls. His sister is also married and they currently do not have children. Adam has a wonderful work ethic, is always striving to learn more, and continues to move up at his company. He has a mechanical engineer degree from CentralMichiganUniversity. Adam is a sports guy; he loves to watch Tiger’s baseball and football in the fall. Adam is also athletic, he enjoys running, lifting weights, playing soft ball on both the work and church teams. Adam plays golf and basketball. Adam is also a handy man; he likes to fix and make things around the house. I know that Adam will be an incredible father. He loves to play with his nieces and our friends children. Adam’s family values are some of the qualities that caught my interest right away after meeting him.  It is hard for me to put into words what an amazing man Adam is. He truly has so many great qualities to describe and hopefully I was able to describe some of them above.

I, Adam, would like to tell you a little about Lani. Lani’s parents have been married for 35 years. She has two older brothers and an older sister who were adopted from South Korea. Her siblings are not married and do not have children. Lani's family is very excited and supportive about our choice to grow our family. One of Lani’s passions is her career. Lani is a special education teacher who works with children with autism. Lani has continued her education and obtained her Masters in Autism. Lani’s big heart truly speaks about her career choice. Lani is a caring and compassionate person. She loves to help other people. Some of Lani’s hobbies include digital scrapbooking and card making. She also likes to come up with fun crafts to do with our nieces. Lani likes to be warm, so spending time at the beach is enjoyable for her. She enjoys the fun that winter can bring, if she is bundled up. Also, Lani has come to enjoy sports through me. Lani enjoys just spending time with family and friends. Family and friends are some of the greatest blessings in life, and we both take every chance we get to spend time with those that are close to us. Lani is such a special person, and I feel so blessed to have Lani as my spouse.

As a couple, we enjoy spending time together. We enjoy lots of different activities, both indoor and outdoor. We like to go to the beach and other fun locations around the West Michigan area. We enjoy watching and going to baseball and football games. We also like to travel. We have family in Chicago, Los Vegas, and California that we enjoy visiting. We also like to go on spring break with Lani’s family to Florida.  We enjoy camping as well. We go camping every 4^th of July with Adam’s family. We also go camping by ourselves or with friends. When we are at home, we enjoy playing games, having camp fires in the backyard, going for walks to our local ice cream shop, and just enjoying each other’s company. We enjoy volunteering our time at Special Days Camps. This is a camp that Lani attended as a child. It is a camp for children with cancer and their siblings. We both volunteer our time for the winter camp weekend. Lani also volunteers her time during summer camp as well.

We attend church regularly and are involved within our congregation. We are involved in the young adult group that meets once a month. We are leaders in our small group. Recently, we have become involved in helping with the High School Youth Group. Lani enjoys singing with the praise band during services, and occasionally Adam will play an instrument in the orchestra during special services. We feel very blessed that we have found church that we truly feel comfortable in.

We hope this gives you a good taste of who we are. We are so thankful to have the opportunity to expand our family through adoption. Family is truly special and an integral parts of our lives. Thank you for your consideration of our story.
