Adam and Andrea

Kalamazoo,Michigan

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about our family. We can only imagine the amount of emotions you’re feeling at this time. Please know how much we respect you and admire your courage in this process. We realize that your decision will be made out of a great love for your child. As a family we are praying for you, for God’s peace, strength and love to be in you and with you every step of the way.

Adam and I met our Junior year of High School and became great friends. We started dating at the beginning of our Senior year and were married two years later, in 1999. As a couple we love to spend time together trying new restaurants, going to movies, playing miniature golf and having coffee at a bookstore. We belong to a wonderful non-denominational church that we love and Adam and I both serve in different ministries there.

Andrea (31), has stayed home with our children since our daughter was born. Being a mom has been her dream and she is wonderful with our kids. She loves spending time with family and friends, reading, taking pictures and being creative. Adam (32), has a business degree and works from home as a consultant. Working from home allows him to be very involved with our kids and their daily activities. He is a loving, devoted, caring and fun dad. Adam enjoys being active and spending time with his family and friends. He is on a softball team every summer and enjoys going to Tigers games.

Our children are our greatest joys. Eliana is 7 ?, she is our first miracle. She will be in 3rd grade this year, which is so hard to believe! A word to describe her is loving. Eliana has a very kind heart and a compassionate personality. She loves people and is always willing to help us, her friends and her classmates. She is very smart and really enjoys being at school. Some of her favorite things to do are dance, soccer, swimming, playing with her friends and brother, singing and going to sporting events with dad. Eliana has many interests and loves trying new things, we encourage her diversity. She is a great sister and is beyond excited to have another sibling and prays for the new baby every night. Our second miracle is Micah, he’s 2 ?. He joined our family through adoption. Micah is full of joy! He has one of the biggest and best smiles ever. He has a great sense of humor and is always making people laugh. Some of his favorite things are cars, trucks, planes, trains…anything that moves. He also loves music, dancing, playing outside and anything that keeps him active. Micah and Eliana love each other very much and look forward to loving a new baby!

Spending quality time together as a family is a priority for us. We enjoy taking the kids to the park, going for walks, playing outside, visiting kids museums, having family movie nights and just hanging out together! In addition to those things, we value taking family vacations. It’s great to get away together. Every year we travel to Florida. While we’re there we visit Adam’s parents and Andrea’s brother and also like to visit one of the Disney parks, a zoo or an aquarium. We also spend every fourth of July in northern Michigan, which is a great time. We’re looking forward to many more family vacations!

We each have very close, supportive families. Adam’s parents split their time between Florida and staying at a campground a few miles from our house. They love spending time with their grandkids. Adam has an older sister (and brother in law) that are local and we see them regularly. His younger brother and his family live about five minutes away from us. The kids love that their cousins are close enough to see them often. Andrea’s parents live only two blocks away. We visit them a few times a week and also see them at church. Being with their grandkids is one of their favorite things in life. Andrea’s oldest brother lives in California and visits a couple times a year. Her second oldest brother and his family live a couple hours away and we see them a few times a year. Her younger brother lives in Florida, we visit him once a year and he also comes to visit us when he can. Both of us have large extended families, including grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, that we spend holidays and special occasions with. Our families are a great source of love and support in our lives and we feel blessed to have them.

God gave each of us the desire to adopt when we were dating. After having our daughter naturally, we experienced difficulty getting pregnant again. At that time, our friends had recently adopted two children through Bethany and they shared their experiences with us. After much prayer and talking to each other and our families, we knew God was leading us to adopt. Shortly after starting the process with Bethany, we were chosen by Micah’s birthmom. The adoption of our son has been a wonderful blessing in our lives and we are excited to experience this a second time. We will do our best to provide a loving, stable and nurturing home for our children, with God as the foundation of our family.

We pray that you are comforted in this difficult decision and we thank you for considering us as a family for your baby. You are continually in our thoughts and prayers.

Grace and Peace,
Adam, Andrea, Eliana & Micah
