Alan and Lynel

Madison Heights,Michigan

Dear Birth Mother,

Thank you for taking time to consider our family. We can only imagine what a difficult decision this is for you. Through the birth of our son, we learned more about how challenging and loving it is to choose someone else to raise your baby. Benjamin’s birthmother gave him a loving speech before turning him over to our care. It was a loving example of her wanting what was best for him but loving him completely at the same time.

We would like to share a little about ourselves. We were married in 2000 after a nine-month courtship. We enjoyed spending time together at home and through vacations. We spend a lot of time with the children of our relatives and friends. Alan is a postal letter carrier. Lynel was a first grade teacher until the birth of Benjamin. Benjamin was born in April of 2010. People are comment how happy and active he is. We love spending lots of time together.

We would love for Benny to have a sibling since we both had siblings that we enjoyed growing up and playing with. We both love children very much. We have tried to make our home child friendly. We live in a quiet neighborhood. We have a large backyard with a swing set, fort, sandbox, and a water table. Inside we have a playroom with toys for all ages. We love having Benny spend time with his cousins and friends. We usually will take another child with us when we go places because we want Benny to have someone to play with. We love going to zoos, science centers, parks, and amusement parks. We go to Lynel’s parents house that is on a lake. Benny loves playing in the water and going for boat rides.

We have always made the holidays special for our nieces and nephews and now our son too. We have Easter egg hunts, go trick or treating in costumes at the zoo and science center, and to see the Light of Christmas at the zoo. We have a large extended family. We try to get together for holidays and during the summer. Lynel’s cousin lives across the street and has a son that is 10 months younger than Benny. We also visit with Benny’s grandparents every week and try to see his cousins a couple of times a month.

We love to travel. Our goal is to visit all 50 states. Alan and Lynel have been to 39 states. Benjamin traveled to 11 states in his first year. We look forward to showing Benjamin and any other children the rest of the country.

Lynel loves to scrapbook our lives. She makes a yearly scrapbook and vacation scrapbooks. She made a special scrapbook of Benjamin’s first year. We also enjoyed sending pictures to Benjamin’s birthmother every few months and texting her pictures when he would do something especially cute. Alan loved video games until his son was born now he spends all his spare time playing with his son and teaching him new things.

We plan on raising our children to know and love God. They will learn about God at home and church. Their Papa is the Pastor and Lynel is in charge of the children’s ministry. We will encourage them to become active in the church.

We plan on letting our children know they were adopted from the beginning. We want them to know that their birth mothers loved them so much that she chose to put the child’s needs before hers. We will be forever grateful for the opportunity to raise your precious child. We pray that God will help you make the decision that is right for you and your child.

From our family,
Alan, Lynel, and Benny
